Hillary Clinton and her supporters have been bombarding the air with powerful ads that use Donald Trump’s own words against him. And one of their most powerful tactics is showing different groups – from kids to people with disabilities – watching Trump on TV.
Clinton’s latest ad takes us on an emotional rollercoaster. As we see Trump attacking John McCain for getting “captured,” Joel Sollender, a prisoner of war who was captured by the Nazis in 1944, is watching Trump’s incendiary comments.
He shares his story about how he felt while serving this country during WWII and goes on to attack Trump. "Apart from the outrage of the insult to prisoners of war, he insulted all of our military," Sollender explains.
He adds while holding back tears, “My war is 70 years ago and yesterday.”
"I would hope we would not adulate a man like him and put him into the most precious office in this country," he concluded.
Clinton’s team released this ad in correlation with National Prisoners of War Remembrance Day, which was on September 16.
