While many contend that any tax reform bill will inevitably help those at the very top income levels, Trump promises that the plan “will lower taxes for middle-income America, so they can keep more of their hard-earned paychecks.” In fact, he even went on the record last week saying that the rich will not be getting richer – he said he is even open raising the taxes on the wealthy, if necessary (though unlikely).
In order to “#MAGA,” Trump continues in the ad, “we must reduce the tax rate on American businesses so they keep jobs in America, create jobs in America and compete for workers right here in America. The America we love.” He reiterates, “we want to bring back trillions of dollars in wealth that is parked overseas.”
“That is the future I want for our people,” Trump continues. “That is the future I want for America. A nation where we are proud, prosperous, united and free. Today, I am asking every citizen to join me in dreaming big and bold and daring things, beautiful things, for our country.”
The Three MusketeersFollowing a closed-door meeting last week between President Trump and Democratic leadership, it looks like the trio might be scheming up a bipartisan deal for tax reform and DACA. The three had dinner last night where they discussed many things – including immigration – and briefly spoke about tax reform, according to reports. In order to try to win support from moderate Democrats on the Republican tax reform plan, Trump was encouraged last week by Pelosi to tweet a message of reassurance about DACA:
But he also tweeted – after the second meeting – that there has been no formal agreement. Speaker Paul Ryan went on the air to make the differentiation between a “discussion” and an “agreement.”

...They have been in our country for many years through no fault of their own - brought in by parents at young age. Plus BIG border security— Donald J. Trump (@realDonaldTrump) September 14, 2017
Having failed to replace the Affordable Care Act with an updated healthcare bill, President Trump is excited to get Congress moving forward with tax reform, and he tweeted his words of encouragement:
No deal was made last night on DACA. Massive border security would have to be agreed to in exchange for consent. Would be subject to vote.— Donald J. Trump (@realDonaldTrump) September 14, 2017
The approval process for the biggest Tax Cut & Tax Reform package in the history of our country will soon begin. Move fast Congress!— Donald J. Trump (@realDonaldTrump) September 13, 2017
We will see how fast Congress will really go this time. Many in the West Wing report that Trump is frustrated with Republican leadership over their Obamacare failure and may be ready to snub them for a deal with Democrats that could land him his first legislative win (a full 10 months after taking office.
With Irma and Harvey devastation, Tax Cuts and Tax Reform is needed more than ever before. Go Congress, go!— Donald J. Trump (@realDonaldTrump) September 13, 2017
