Indiana Republican Rep. Todd Young is labeling opponent Marlin Stutzman as “Chicago Style” – and not the pizza.
The attack ad criticizes Stutzman for embracing President Barack Obama’s “Chicago-style politics” by joining Democrats’ “dirty tricks against Todd Young.”
Marlin Stutzman Challenges Todd Young’s Right to Be on the Ballot
Stutzman and the Democratic Party, separately, challenged Young’s right to be on Indiana’s primary ballot.
According to the Indy Star, “Statewide candidates are required to collect 500 signatures from registered voters in each of Indiana’s nine congressional districts.” County clerks verify the signatures and send it off the to the secretary of state’s office.
Indiana’s secretary of state counted 501 signatures, but the Indiana Democratic Party counted 498.
After Democrats filed their challenge, IndyStar says they reviewed the petitions submitted to the secretary of state by county clerks and counted 497 verified signatures.
To fight back, Young’s campaign is disputing the findings and trying to
use the attacks as a fundraising effort.
