Erin Houchin, who’s running for Indiana’s 9th Congressional District, shows she's proud to be a born and bred Hoosier – unlike her “big money” opponent Trey Hollingsworth – in her latest political ad.
Houchin’s first spot of the campaign season, “Here,” is as much an ode to her roots as it is an attack on Hollingsworth’s track record. The ad opens with clips of picturesque meadows and little leaguers before cutting to Houchin, who explains how she’s dedicated her life fighting for conservative Christian values. She goes on to accuse her opponent, Hollingsworth, of using his millions to buy his way into Congress – which she hopes her fellow Hoosiers can see right through.
The Houchin-Hollingsworth rivalry has continued to heat up in the weeks leading up to Indiana’s May 3 Republican primary. And although there are three other Republicans vying for the same seat, Houchin and Hollingsworth are poised to be the frontrunners in the race.
