Ahead of Tuesday’s Wisconsin primaries, Ted Cruz’s campaign launched an attack ad against John Kasich for the first time.
“Not For Us” implies that Kasich engaged in cronyism as governor – giving Worthington Industries more than $619,000 in state tax breaks after the company supposedly donated over $500,000 in support of Kasich.
“Ted Cruz is recycling failed Democrat attacks in a desperate effort to smear Governor Kasich,” John Weaver, Kasich’s chief strategist, said in response to the TV ad. “It didn’t work for dishonest Ohio Democrats in 2014 and won’t work for deceptive Ted Cruz now.”
According to ABC News, the spot aired in Wisconsin over the weekend, and the Cruz campaign also sent mailers attacking the Ohio governor.
