Senator Ted Cruz launched two new attack ads against Donald Trump and the “PC police” who have condemned the North Carolina controversial bathroom law.
Trump said on Thursday that transgender people should be allowed to use whatever bathroom they feel most confortable with.
In response, the Cruz said at a rally in Frederick, Maryland, “Have we gone stark-raving nuts?"
To follow up on this attack, the Cruz media team cut two ads: “Common Sense” and “Appropriate.”
“Common Sense” attacks Trump’s stance, saying he has “joined the ranks of the PC police” and “can’t be trusted with common sense.”
The second ad, “Appropriate,” uses ominous sounds and scary black-and-white images of a bathroom, saying “it’s not appropriate” and “not safe” to let a grown man “pretending to be a woman” into the bathroom.
Houston had a similar ballot measure to North Carolina’s law, which quickly got flushed in the 2015 election. The group against letting transgender people choose which restroom to use launched an equally as polarizing ad as Ted Cruz’s campaign. See it here.
