Democratic candidate for Illinois Senate Tammy Duckworth’s most recent biographical political ad, entitled “Adversity,” touches on the hardships that her family faced after her father lost his job.
“He didn’t want a handout, he just wanted a chance to keep working. I know what it’s like to overcome tough times,” Duckworth explains.
As she speaks directly into the camera, Duckworth also explains her plan to create economic opportunity and security for Illinois’ working-class families.
The Democratic candidate is embroiled in a tough race against Republican Mark Kirk. The two have been neck-and-neck in the polls for the past few months.
“Adversity” was released into statewide rotation on August 22, according to the campaign.
