Democratic Senator Mark Pryor of Arkansas, up for re-election in 2014, is battling in one of the most heated political fights in the nation. In his most recent ad, Pryor appeals to his Christian base and talks candidly about his religious convictions and faith in the Bible.
Holding the Bible with both hands, Pryor says, “This is my compass. My north star. It gives me comfort and guidance to do what ‘s best for Arkansas.” He ends with the traditional “I’m Mark Pryor and I approve this message” political ad line but goes one step further adding, “Because this is who I am and what I believe.”
Pryor’s challenger, Republican Congressman Tom Cotton, has the full support of the Republican Party behind him, and a recent poll by his campaign shows him with a four point lead over Pryor, 45 percent to 41 percent.
