Save My Care released another video reacting to the Senate’s latest version of the Healthcare Bill. Earlier this week, the group targeted four Republican Senators that were on the fence about repealing the Affordable Care Act. This time, Save My Care is targeting all Senators – but mainly those who are drafting the bill.
While the updated CBO score has not been released for the newest version of the bill, the ad says that “the new healthcare repeal bill still threatens coverage for tens of millions.” It continues, the bill “allows insurers to deny coverage based on preexisting conditions. It still slashes Medicaid. It still lets insurers charge five times more for people over fifty.”
But, according to the video, the only people that are not affected by the bill are the ones that are drafting it. “Senators did make the bill better for one group of Americans… themselves.” The narrator continues, “a special exemption protects their healthcare but not ours.”
The ad quotes Vox saying, the bill is “ensuring that members of Congress have coverage for a wider array of benefits than other Americans” –Vox 7/13/17
Senators are pushing for the bill to be voted on before the CBO score is released. Why? They believe the score will ignore many new clauses, including the Cruz Amendment – “that would allow insurers to sell unregulated plans without protections for pre-existing conditions and without requirements that they cover various benefits guaranteed under Obamacare.”
The group ends the video asking those concerned to “Call your Senators, tell them if they’re going to be exempt from the healthcare repeal, you should be too. Tell them to Save My Care”
