Last month, President Barack Obama stepped in to voice his support for Democrat Patrick Murphy in the Florida Senate race.
Today, the Murphy campaign launched its first TV political ad to showcase President Obama’s support. In “Strong,” Obama lists off times when he’s counted on Murphy, including protecting Social Security and Medicare, fighting for a woman’s right to choose and standing up to the gun lobby.
“I count on Patrick Murphy, you can too,” Obama ends the ad.
“Strong” will air statewide, but Murphy’s campaign did not specify how long the ad will run for.
“The anti-Democratic Party Establishment is desperate to drag Grayson’s opponent, their do-nothing, errand boy for Wall Street, over the finish line,” reads a statement from the Grayson campaign. “These arrogant Empire-Strikes-Back efforts by the Democratic politburo will be no more successful than the similar failed attempts by the Republican party bosses.”
The current polling average from RealClearPolitics shows Murphy leading Grayson 29.3% to 21%. Stay tuned as we continue to follow the latest ads from the Florida Senate Race.
