Speaker John Boehner announced his resignation today, under increased pressure from conservatives in his party. He will step down from his leadership position at the end of October, as Congress averts a looming government shutdown.
The Ohio legislator, who took on the position as Speaker in 2011, faced challenges from day one and struggled to unite a party that is becoming increasingly splintered. And members of the Do-Nothing Congress on both sides of the aisle are happy to see him take the walk to shame.
Tasked with a tough job, we thought Boehner’s life advice in this ad above was a little strange – “showing up is 90% of life."
So what’s the other 10%?
Looks like Boehner will now have some free time to figure it out.
