New Jersey Republican Representative Scott Garrett has been under attack since Politico reported that he told fellow Republicans that he wouldn’t pay his National Republican Congressional Committee dues because the group supported gay candidates. Since then, Garrett has lost a lot of support (and money) from his own Party.
The House Majority PAC, who has been one of Garrett’s outspoken opponents, is broadcasting Rep. Garrett’s positions in the sky this Fourth of July weekend.
The Democratic super PAC is spending $5,000 to fly a banner along the Jersey Shore, which will read, “Scott Garrett: Anti-gay bigotry won’t fly.” The banner will also urge beachgoers to visit www.garrettbigotry.com to learn about his views.
In addition to the sky banner, the group has been targeting Garrett on TV, online and on the road for the past few weeks – including a $320,000 ad buy, as well as billboards along Route 17 in Bergen County, New Jersey.
