Donald Trump’s amorphous presidential platform has very few constants, but one point that tends to stick around is his disdain for American companies moving abroad. Trump’s incessant railing against companies that send factories and jobs overseas plays right into his anti-globalization and anti-free trade ideology.
But on the other hand, Trump is a businessman… so he must be familiar with the corporate side of the story too, right? Well according to this ad from the liberal group American Bridge PAC, Trump is more than just familiar with those companies – he’s financially invested in them.
The attack got a lot of applause at Trump’s rallies at the time. But as this ad points out, investigation into Trump’s financial disclosure forms showed that he had invested between $100,001 and $250,000 in the parent company that owns Carrier Corp., and he is continuing to make money off those investments.
The Carrier Corp. example is just one of a few highlighted in the ad. The video also shows that Trump has identical investments in Nabisco and Ford, which he also openly attacks in his stump speech.
But despite the onslaught of attacks, the entire #NeverTrump “movement,” and all the talk of a contested Republican convention, Donald Trump is the only Republican candidate still left in the race.
So is another ad showing Trump’s hypocrisy really going to make a big gash in his support, or is the left looking to kill his candidacy by a thousand cuts? Looks like they are going with the latter.

Donald Trump: Make America – And Me – Rich Again
A few weeks ago, when Trump was battling Ted Cruz for a win in Indiana, he decided to make his anti–globalization message hit closer to home with the blue collar Hoosiers he was trying to woo. Instead of talking broadly about companies that send jobs abroad, he focused on Carrier Corp., a company that shut down its factory in Indiana and sent 2,100 jobs to Mexico. The attack got a lot of applause at Trump’s rallies at the time. Donald Trump – Bully, Hypocrite, Man of the People?
Between Democratic and Republican groups, Trump has been stuck with just about every name he could be called. Some ads call him a bully. Some ads call him dangerous. Some call him a misogynist, a crook, a jerk, a liberal – and on more than one occasion, a hypocrite. But despite the onslaught of attacks, the entire #NeverTrump “movement,” and all the talk of a contested Republican convention, Donald Trump is the only Republican candidate still left in the race.
