Donald Trump appears to be losing the Russian defector vote.
One week after the Clinton campaign raised questions about Trump's ties to Russian President Vladimir Putin, the independent group Humanity for Hillary released a new video featuring the most famous Russian defector to the United States, ballet dancer Mikhail Baryshnikov.
"For the first time" since becoming an American citizen, Baryshnikov says, "I'm hearing rhetoric that reminds me of the Soviet Union of my youth, where it was a crime – and continues to be a crime –to be different."
With Clinton still posting weak numbers when pollsters ask about "honesty" and "trustworthiness," Baryshnikov makes sure to say "trust" more than once, and the ad's final frame offers a social media hashtag for viewers to share: #ITrustHer.
Baryshnikov saves his deepest cut of Trump for last: "Hundreds of thousands of people like me have fled countries led by dangerous, totalitarian opportunists – like Donald Trump. Don't let that happen to our beautiful United States of America."
So if you see Trump launch a Twitter tirade against Baryshnikov's overwrought performance in the 1980s dud "White Nights," now you know why.

Mikhail Baryshnikov: "I Left a Country That Built Walls"
Baryshnikov looks sternly into the camera and swiftly skewers Trump's pledge to build a border wall, "Forty-two years ago I left a country that built walls to come to a place without them.""For the first time" since becoming an American citizen, Baryshnikov says, "I'm hearing rhetoric that reminds me of the Soviet Union of my youth, where it was a crime – and continues to be a crime –to be different."
Humanity for Hillary Pushes "#ITrustHer"
He doesn't mention Trump's name until the end. First, he gives Hillary Clinton a full-throated endorsement: "The America I love welcomes people of all nations, all religions and supports all forms of human expression ... Hillary Clinton believes in that America ... I trust her to lead us in the right direction, to protect the rights of all citizens, and to provide sane, steady leadership in a complex world. I trust her with our future."With Clinton still posting weak numbers when pollsters ask about "honesty" and "trustworthiness," Baryshnikov makes sure to say "trust" more than once, and the ad's final frame offers a social media hashtag for viewers to share: #ITrustHer.
