The dominating theme of the 2016 election cycle has been the rise of self-proclaimed “political outsiders” who are gunning to uproot the political establishment.
Mary Thomas, who has called President Obama a “king” for forcing his liberal agenda on conservative Floridians, is now the latest politico to jump on the outsider bandwagon. Her newest campaign ad, “Different,” is an ode to her unique background – which, according to Thomas, sets her apart from her spooky opponent Neal Dunn.
“Neal Dunn couldn’t be more different from you and me. He’s a lobbyist, Charlie Crist supporter and a banker who lobbied for higher banking fees that harmed seniors,” says Thomas from behind the camera. “You and I are different. We work hard, go to church and try to raise our children the very best that we can.”
Thomas is making her last bid to outshine in her opponents ahead of Florida’s Republican primary on August 30. Currently, she has nearly $200,000 in her war chest compared to Dunn’s cool half a million. The third Republican in the running, Ken Sukhia, lags behind his opponents at $101,967 in cash on hand.
