Judicial Crisis Network, a conservative 501(c)(4) that focuses on legal issues, launched a statewide ad campaign for New Hampshire Senator Kelly Ayotte thanking her for not holding confirmation hearings for President Obama’s Supreme Court nominee, Merrick Garland.
The spot commends Senator Ayotte for “protecting the Constitution” and letting the people of New Hampshire “have a voice” in the nomination process.
However, she was one of the few Republicans who said last week that they would meet with Judge Merrick Garland.
“I feel I would want to explain my position to the nominee,” Ayotte said. “He does serve on the Circuit Court of Appeals, so I want to give him that courtesy.”
The $500,000 ad buy in The Granite State is a part of a larger $2 million television, radio and digital national buy. Judicial Crisis Network is thanking other senators in Colorado, North Dakota, West Virginia, Iowa and Ohio.
