In Republican Senator Johnny Isakson’s latest political ad, we hear from Georgia resident Lois Puzey who shares the tragic death of her daughter Kate.
Kate taught English in the West African village of Badjoude, Benin, and was found murdered after she reported a teacher for allegedly abusing and raping a young girl.
Puzey explains, “So much was done to honor her and a lot of that was due to Isakson.” According to Puzey, Isakson helped get justice for Kate in Benin and passed a law that further protects Peace Corps volunteers.
“I’m a lifelong Democrat. I’m so grateful that he’s my senator,” Puzey ends to show how Isakson’s help wasn’t based on party lines.
However, Barksdale has pumped over $3 million of his own money into the race. And with Donald Trump at the top of the ticket, Democrats are starting to look at Georgia as a potential battleground state.
