JB Pritzker has announced that he will be running for governor of Illinois in 2018. Pritzker is one of many declared Democrat candidates – including Chris Kennedy, the son of Robert F. Kennedy. Pritzker is a billionaire philanthropist with a background as a venture capitalist.
Despite his current economic prosperity, Pritzker says he decided to give back to the community because “my mother raised me with an abiding sense of social justice. And my father taught us to think big. So, their progressive values and those of my faith have led me to do big things that have had a lasting impact of people’s lives.”
The video continues with Pritzker saying that “I went to work with others, with nonprofits, with elected leaders, with business people, with community leaders and everyday Illinoisans.” This is again coupled with shots of him speaking and meeting with various different groups, for good measure.
The video ends with Pritzker saying that, “This is a moment in our state of great crisis. But it’s also a moment of great opportunity. But right now, it’s time to stand up and fight. And that’s why I’m running to be the next governor of Illinois.”

A Picture is Worth a Thousand Words
Pritzker narrates over imagery of him interacting with his potential constituents – he is speaking in front of the Laborers’ Local 100, My Block My Hood My City, reading to young children, and speaking at the Women’s March in Springfield. The ad says, he is “expanding early education for at-risk youth, feeding hungry kids in poverty, creating good paying jobs, improving the state’s innovation economy, and fighting to expand civil rights for everyone.”The video continues with Pritzker saying that “I went to work with others, with nonprofits, with elected leaders, with business people, with community leaders and everyday Illinoisans.” This is again coupled with shots of him speaking and meeting with various different groups, for good measure.
