“Jason Kander the Pandering Panda,” starts as a traditional attack ad – with eerie music and an ominous voiceover. But 15 seconds in the ad turns from stock attack to truly weird. You have to see this one for yourself.
Jason Kander, Missouri’s Secretary of State, is running for U.S. Senate in Missouri against incumbent Republican Senator Roy Blunt. Kander has attacked Blunt for cozying up to D.C. lobbyists, so NRSC decided to turn the tables and use the same attack against Kander – calling him a “pandering panda.”
The NRSC Takes to Snapchat
“Jason Kander the Pandering Panda” was released on Snapchat in August of 2015, and according to the NRSC, the social media platform called their ad “the best performing political ad ever aired on Snapchat.”Later a Snapchat spokeswoman responded, “While the company did not comment on performance, it’s fair to say that the ad did extremely well.”
Not only has the NRSC taken to Snapchat, but you can also follow the “Kander Panda” on Twitter and check out his own website.
