Hillary Clinton launched a new political ad today featuring children watching Donald Trump on TV.
“Role Models” strings together some of Trump’s most controversial statements, and the montage of close ups highlights the key theme – our country’s kids are watching. On-screen text reads: “What example will we set for them?”
Clinton ends the ad, “Our children and grandchildren will look back at this time… we need to make sure they can be proud of us.”
A June Bloomberg poll asked likely voters whether they thought Clinton or Trump would be a good role model for children. Clinton won support from 52 percent, while Trump received 25 percent – and 21 percent said they were not sure.
Many groups have tried to tear down Trump through different types of attacks, but this message may resonate with voters.
"Role Models” will run on television and paid digital ads in Virginia, Ohio, Colorado, New Hampshire, Iowa, Florida, Nevada and North Carolina.
