If you don't know who Alex Jones is, the Hillary Clinton campaign wants to introduce you to him.
And Trump wooed him in an interview during the Republican primary, saying to Jones, "I will not let you down. You will be very, very impressed I hope. And I think we'll be speaking a lot."
Clinton's media consultants took that snippet and wove it into a montage of some of Jones' wildest moments.
"This is Alex Jones. Donald Trump likes to go on his show" reads the screen as the ad begins. After showing the Trump clip, we then see Jones call the Sandy Hook shooting "a synthetic – completely fake, with actors – in my view, manufactured." He says an "inside job is the only explanation" of the September 11th attacks. He claims to have interviewed "cops" that saw "the Feds plant the bombs" in the 1995 Oklahoma City domestic terror attack.
Then we get to the kicker, Jones saying in awe, "It is surreal to talk about issues, here on air, and then word-for[word hear Trump say it two days later. It is amazing."
Outside of few sprinkles of screen text, the ad is entirely composed of Jones' and Trump's words, lending credibility to the association Clinton's political consultants want to make.
Clinton just has to hope that the community of people concerned about gay frogs isn't the silent majority.
