Darryl Cherney is throwing his hat in the 2016 presidential election as a third party candidate, seeking the Green Party nomination. Cherney is running to take “all the money out of politics.” He states in his announcement ad that his campaign is not accepting any donations – running his campaign on social media. “I want to teach young people that there’s another way to do politics in this country,” Cherney states. If elected, his first act will be to pardon and free American-Indian activist Leonard Peltier, review of all treaties made with the indigenous peoples of this country “so that they are honored as best as possible” and issue pardons for Edward Snowden, Julian Assange and Chelsea Manning. Second act? Cherney would cover the White House in solar panels.
