Within minutes of Donald Trump stepping off a stage in Mexico – which he shared with Mexican president Enrique Peña Nieto – the GOP released a web ad highlighting ‘Hillary’s Immigration Flip Flops.’
The video is clearly meant to serve as a counter narrative to the last week of speculation that Trump’s hardline immigration stance may not be so hardline after all. Last week in an interview with CNN’s Dana Bash, Trump’s new campaign manager Kellyanne Conway said that Trump’s much talked about “deportation force” was now “to be determined.”
Since then, Trump has said “there could certainly be a softening” of his immigration stance, if he was to win the presidency. His core supporters – many of which flocked to his candidacy specifically because of his immigration stance – have all balked at that notion.
Looking to beat back speculation of Donald Trump's immigration flip flops, the GOP did what they normally do when their nominee is being scrutinized: shine the spotlight on Hillary Clinton.
Check it out.
