Libertarian candidate Gary Johnson is just a few points away from breaking the 15% threshold he needs to earn a podium next to Donald Trump and Hillary Clinton on the presidential debate stage, according to a recent CNN/ORC poll that was conducted before the presidential conventions.
Of course, that’s only true when the Libertarians are actually included as an option in national polling.
But with a significant chunk of Americans still not satisfied with Trump or Clinton – even with the presidential conventions in the headlines – the tide may be turning for the Libertarians. Especially if you ask Johnson or his running mate Bill Weld.
In the newest ad released by the Libertarian ticket, Johnson and Weld reach another hand out to undecided voters – making the case that with the Libertarian Party, the first time’s a charm.
“The greatest lie ever told in America is that the battle for our freedom was won in 1776,” we hear Johnson say, over clips of huge crowds gathered in front of the National Mall. “The battle for freedom never ends.”
Johnson goes on to explain his platform – one he says bridges the divide between the Republicans and Democrats.
“Together we will cut the spending. Together we will end the wars. Together we will rebuild our economy – reclaim our jobs, restore our constitutional rights, and kick the riff-raff out of Washington, and keep them out.”
“Good government is easy.” Johnson assures us. “Be Libertarian with me one time – and I’ll prove it to you.”
Check out Gary Johnson's other recent ads – one of them will give you goosebumps. The other is a grassroots inspired ad that's short, but powerful.
