During Tuesday’s GOP presidential debate, a new presidential candidate threw his hat in the ring … kind of.
Frank Underwood, fictional President of the United States in House of Cards, released his “reelection political ad” as a teaser trailer for the fourth season of the popular Netflix show.
The spot took a page out of Ronald Reagan’s “Morning in America” playbook, with stock images of farmland, construction workers, and flag waving children. The ad team chose the tagline “It’s a new day in America,” referencing the character’s jobs plan “America Works.”
The new season debuts on March 4, 2016 – right after Super Tuesday and in the thick of primary season. And America, President Underwood is “only getting started.”
If you are itching for the new season to start, check out President Underwood’s campaign page. Also, check out Sesame Street’s House of Cards parody and when a North Carolina State Senator released his own House of Cards political ad.
