Missouri Republican gubernatorial nominee Eric Greitens’ past few political ads have been filled with Gatling guns and loud explosions. Greitens, who won the Republican primary with 35% of the vote, is now shifting to a general election strategy – marked by the change of tone in “Humanitarian.”
His latest spot shows a more stripped down version of the candidate – unarmed and sharing his humanitarian side.
Greitens begins, “There should never be ethnic cleansing again, there should never be genocide again, there should never be another holocaust.” However, the Bosnian War was happening at the same time Greitens was in college. The atrocities happening there influenced him to work in refugee camps in Bosnia – and later in Rwanda.
“I was also witness to an incredible power that comes when leaders are willing to step up and ask communities to come together and make a difference,” Greitens adds.
“Real leaders who are willing to fight,” Greitens explains, can change and save lives.
