EMILY’s List kicked off a new online portal called Run to Win where women can learn about how to run for office.
The group told USA TODAY that this will “begin the ‘most aggressive’ recruiting campaign in its 32-year history.”
In the launch video, we see women’s reactions to certain days after the 2016 election – including the day after Election Day and Thanksgiving. As the video progresses, women start to “stand up,” “speak out” then “march.”
“What’s next?” the video asks. “Run.”
EMILY’s List is hoping to recruit more pro-choice Democratic women – and the group is doubling its forces across the country to train and recruit new candidates.
Since Election Day, more than 4,000 women have reached out to EMILY’s List to say they want to run for office, including 1,660 since Jan. 20 alone. That’s four times the number who reached out in the previous 22 months combined.
