The more and more the GOP tries to mend ties with the Latino community, the more and more Donald Trump ups the ante.
Donald Trump’s latest Instagram ad bashes “Jeb Bush’s thoughts on illegal immigrants,” and doubles down on his own controversial statements that many Latino immigrants are “rapists “and “murderers.”
In April, Jeb Bush said that it shouldn’t be a felony every time someone crosses the border into America illegally, saying immigrants mainly do so out of “an act of love” to support their families still living south of the border.
Donald Trump instead shows intimidating mug shots of Francisco Sanchez, Santana Ganona, and Brian Omar Hyde; all illegal immigrants who are also murderers.
Ironically this reminded us (and just about everyone else) of the infamous “Willie Horton” ad that helped get Jeb’s dad into the White House in 1988 – and like that ad, many are saying Trump’s Instagram clip is “another iconic moment of racism in political advertising.”
And just after Trump said he wouldn’t go negative…
