There’s one thing that Dr. Dwight McKenna should have learned from his unsuccessful run for New Orleans coroner in 2010. It’s probably best not to gross out your audience before they know what office you’re running for. In a video that looks like Grey’s Anatomy’s low budget counterpart, an actor playing longtime coroner Frank Minyard attempts to sell body parts along with his blood-covered partner-in-crime, Igor. And please don’t ask us to explain why his name is Igor…this ad is already making us nauseous enough without having to watch it again. These accusations stemmed from a 1990 controversy alleging that Dr. Minyard ordered organ donations without contacting the deceased’s next of kin for authorization. Minyard later acknowledged these accusations and blamed an old Louisiana law that has since been strengthened as the cause of the controversy. Whatever the truth is, we sincerely hope that no one was given body parts that resemble those in McKenna’s attack ad… Did you know? Dwight McKenna isn’t exactly above the law himself. He was jailed for nine months in the 90’s after being convicted of felony tax evasion.
