Monica Vernon is not “kidding” around in her first TV ad of the general election. The Democrat running in Iowa’s 1st congressional district election is calling on Congress to quit its “childish bickering.”
“I know firsthand the challenges of raising a family and starting a small business — making sure homework is done while meeting payroll,” Vernon told The Gazette.
Vernon, who is facing one term Republican Congressman Rod Blum, is focusing on helping Iowa families get affordable child care, expanded family sick leave and equal pay for equal work.
Although not much polling has been conducted, Blum was leading Vernon by 12 points back in March. With less than three months until the general election, make sure to stay tuned as we follow the latest political media from this race.
