Conservative Republican Josh Hawley, candidate for Missouri Attorney General, responded to a recent attack ad by his primary opponent Republican Kurt Schaefer with his own 30-second political ad.
Last week, Schaefer accused Hawley of being a member of both the American Taliban and the People’s Mojahedeen of Iran. The ad further alleges that Hawley “fought to remove these Islamic radicals from the terror list.”
Hawley’s response ad “False” begins by showing an image of Schaefer’s negative ad. He discredits Schaefer’s accusations calling him a “career politician” that “will say anything even if it is a lie.” Hawley further rejects Schaefer’s claims saying “I never worked for Holt. Kurt Schaefer knows it, the Post-Dispatch and KY3 proved it.”
Hawley continues to call Schaefer a “moderate career politician desperate for another political job.”
He ended his ad letting voters know he needs their help to “take on the liberals.”
According to the Hawley campaign, he is polling ahead of Schaefer for the first time since the campaign began. Stay tuned to see if Schaefer will air another attack ad against Hawley before they face off in the primary election on August 2.
