While the Republicans are trying to fix their recruitment troubles in the U.S. Senate race in Colorado, incumbent Democratic Senator Michael Bennet hopes to sway voters with this heartwarming political ad.
“Breakthrough Therapies” features a mom whose son was born with a rare form of cystic fibrosis – and doctors had declared her son would have a life expectancy of 35 years.
The mom explains how she wasn’t able to access a new medication that would help her son, because it was not approved in the United States. “But Michael Bennet changed that,” she expresses.
According to the ad, Bennet introduced a bill with bipartisan support that would expedite the approval process for medicines and treatment.
“As a mom,” she declares, “Michael Bennet gave me a future with my son.”
Bennet will head into Colorado’s June 28 Democratic primary unopposed as the Republicans figure out which candidate will actually be listed on the ballot this year.
