Democratic nominee for Connecticut governor, Ned Lamont, is putting the gun debate at the center of his campaign, with an ad featuring the daughter of the Sandy Hook Elementary School principal who was killed in the infamous Newtown massacre.
Alluding to her own gun control activism , Lafferty-Garbatini says, "I'm working to make sure that never happens again." Then she sets her sights on the Republican gubernatorial nominee, Bob Stefanowski, and she doesn't hold back:
"Bob Stefanowski has an A rating from the NRA. He would go back to the laws that allowed my mom to be murdered. Don't let Bob Stefanowski become Governor, for my mom."
This is not the first time Lafferty-Garbatini has appeared in a political ad. In 2016, she was featured in a Hillary Clinton ad that also paid tribute to her slain mother.

Lafferty-Garbatini is referring to the gun control law that Connecticut enacted in the aftermath of the Sandy Hook massacre.
