Who knew that a show about a high school glee club could be turned from a heartwarming singalong into a campaign ad about killing fuzzy animals in gas chambers?
The Democratic incumbent, Illinois Governor Pat Quinn, accomplished just that when he painted Bill Brady as pretty much the worst man to ever run for office in this parody of FOX’s Glee.
Portrayed as a homophobic, puppy-killing, tax-evading, Tea Party-loving career politician, Bill Brady probably deleted this episode from his TiVo (we’re guessing) before he could hear his running mate stumble through an interview about education (we think—we only heard a couple coherent words).
The only thing that would make this ad better is if Pat Quinn had sung a power ballad at the end. Why didn’t his political consultant think of that? Maybe next time…we’ll keep our fingers crossed.
Did you know? Judging from the fact that Bill Brady and running mate Justin Plummer were portrayed as the biggest idiots to grace the small screen since Joey from Friends or Brittany from Glee, you probably guessed that this election was far from close. However, Pat Quinn won by less than one percent of the vote in this highly contested race.
