Joe Biden’s campaign released a new video of him trying to remind voters about his support for Obamacare and his opposition to the elimination of all private health insurance.
With the backdrop of an American flag and a soaring orchestral music in the background, Biden spends a full minute staking his candidacy as the protector of Obamacare from the progressive Democratic left. “I believe we have to protect and build on Obamacare,” he tells the camera. “I understand the appeal of Medicare for All. But folks supporting it should be clear that it means getting rid of Obamacare. And I’m not for that.”
As the spot pans to video in the Oval Office of the day Obama signed the healthcare law, Biden continues: “I was very proud the day I stood there with Barack Obama and he signed that legislation. Never before had anyone ever been able to do that in the White House. Twenty million Americans gained coverage, over 100 million with pre-existing conditions finally got protection, and, most importantly, piece of mind.” He then denounces all proposals to end private health insurance as a form of “starting over that makes no sense to me at all.”
Biden was stunned by Kamala Harris in the recent debate. While Harris’ attacks didn’t knock out the former vice president, they did leave him seeing stars. In this video he is putting his gloves up to defend himself.
