Britain takes to the polls on Thursday in a snap general election – and polls are much closer than many thought they would be. When U.K.’s prime minister Theresa may called for the election, many thought the ruling Conservative Party would run away with it in a landslide. But Jeremy Corbyn’s Labour Party has narrowed the Conservatives’ lead to only four points.
Elections in the U.K. don’t drag on for two to three years like they do here in the states – in the U.K. they only go on for about four weeks.
That means there’s a lot less time for campaigns to blanket the airwaves in political ads – so the ones that go on air have to count. This ad from the Labour Party’s Peoples Momentum – an offshoot of Jeremy Corbyn’s 2015 Leadership campaign – certainly counted, and caught a lot of attention both here in the states and across the pond.
Wait for the twist at the end, and you will understand why.
Brutal response 😂 (wait for it)
