Today, Hillary Clinton’s campaign will be holding their first its first rally on Roosevelt Island in New York City. She announced her candidacy in April 2015 and has been traveling around the country campaigning since then, but this rally will serve as the official kickoff for her campaign.
Holding the rally on Roosevelt Island was a symbolic choice, allowing Clinton to channel the progressive ideologies of Franklin and Eleanor Roosevelt during her speech. Clinton intends to offer a more expansive rationale for why she should be the next President of the United States.
During the rally, Clinton is also expected to speak about her mother’s story and how the Rodham roots made her the person she is today.
Have you seen Hillary’s 2016 presidential announcement?
Clinton’s campaign tried a different tactic this election compared to the 2008 presidential election. She announced in April without a large fanfare, making her campaign more intimate in order to connect with voters. The fanfare Hillary supporters have been looking for will be happening at today’s rally.
