In the House, Representative Elise Stefanik from New York’s 21st Congressional District is the youngest member at age 30. Additionally, she is the youngest woman ever elected to Congress. Representative Stefanik was elected into Congress in 2014.
Arkansas Senator Tom Cotton is the youngest member in the Senate at age 37. Cotton was recently elected into Senate in 2014, unseating incumbent Senator Mark Pryor. Although the race wasn’t close, with Cotton winning 56.5% to 39.5%, neither candidate held back the attack ads in that race.
Coincidence, or not, both of the youngest members in the House and Senate are Republicans.
