Fred Davis recently joined Ohio Governor John Kasich’s Super PAC, New Day for America, as their Media Strategist.
Davis is a seasoned political consultant and has worked on several presidential campaigns, including John McCain and George W. Bush. He is also widely known for Christine O’Donnell’s “I’m Not a Witch” ad and Carly Fiorina’s classic “Demon Sheep” political ad.
Will John Kasich Run for President in 2016
Kasich has not indicated when he will formally announce his plans to run in the 2016 presidential election, but his team is staffing up as if preparing for an announcement. Pollster Linda DiVall recently joined the Super PAC team and other presidential campaign veterans, like John Weaver, may be joining his team soon.
According to a Fox News poll, Kasich is polling at 2%, which is 10 points away from the frontrunners like Jeb Bush (12%) and Scott Walker (12%). His position in the poll may be an issue for the first GOP presidential debate on August 6th. Fox News will only invite the top 10 candidates based on national polling averages, and at the moment, he’s in 11th place.
Kasich has some time to move up in the polls, though. Fox News will wait until August 4th at 5PM EST to cut off the top 10 candidates.
There is some good news for Kasich. An Ohio Republican Presidential Primary poll, shows Kasich leading the pack at 19%, giving him a home-field advantage in a swing state, if he decides to run.
