New York Senator Chuck Schumer is calling on the FDA to regulate the latest trend – snortable chocolate powder called ‘Loko Coco.’ According to CBS, “Schumer is worried that it could prove harmful and is being marketed like a drug.”
The product, which is being sold on Amazon for a whopping $24.99 has been making its way around the internet as a drug-free way of energizing for a long night. Sold through the company Legal Lean, it has been marketed “as a motivation that is great for partygoers to dance the night away without a crash.”
It’s hard to tell if the product is actually detrimental, or if it is a passing fad – all nine of the Amazon reviews are gags and it seems like most of the buzz about the product is from Schumer’s condemnation of it.
But is Chuck the one getting ‘loko’ off the coco? His latest dancing moves suggest yes.
