Matthew Craffey is a Republican candidate for California’s 50th State Assembly District. District 50 includes the area between the Pacific Ocean and the Santa Monica Mountains, along with a large section of Central Los Angeles.
Craffey grew up in Ojai, California. He attended Ventura College where he earned his A.D. in Liberal Arts, then California Lutheran University where earned his Bachelor of Arts in Political Science with an emphasis in International Relations. He moved to Los Angeles in 2012 and he is currently Director of Prospect Management at UCLA. Craffery worked for both the Ventura Police Department and the Ventura County Sheriff’s Department before making the career change to University Development work.
Craffey wants to work to create a work climate that ensures companies and the workers stay here in California. He also believes that there needs to be increased accountability in our public schools, an expedited review process for creating more charter schools,and new low-cost vocational education and degree options for adults and working families.
