Ken Vogel is a Republican candidate in the 2016 race for California State Assembly District 12. Vogel grew up farming in Linden and graduated from Fresno State University with a Bachelor’s in History and a Master’s in education and teaching.
He enlisted in the army reserve in 1968 and was a member until 2000 when he was honorably discharged. Vogel is a lifelong walnut farmer who has received numerous agricultural awards. During his educational career he received the Lodi Lodge #256 of Masons Award for outstanding service to students of public schools. Vogel was first elected to the San Joaquin County board of Supervisors in 2007 and served until 2014, when he termed out. During his tenure on the Board of Supervisors, Vogel served of the Advisory Water Commission, the agricultural advisory board and many others. He looks to fight for more water storage, stop tax hikes and create better-paying jobs for the middle class. In 2014, Vogel was inducted into the Lodi County Hall of Fame for his contributions to the government.
