Vermont Senator Bernie Sanders announced over the weekend that his political revolution will be podcasted – and the Bernie Sanders Show is officially live.
The show is completely free to listen to and has already released three episodes. Each episode features the 75-year-old senator sitting down with progressive thought leaders to discuss “the political revolution, our focus in the fight for a progressive agenda and how Bernie and others are fighting back against the Trump administration and its efforts to divide us up.”
So far, the show has featured talks with Rev. William Barber, Science Guy Bill Nye and filmmaker and environmental activist Josh Fox.
This may seem like a bizarre media move for a sitting Senator to take on, but it’s far from Sanders’ first time behind a mic for his own show.
When he was still the mayor of Burlington Vermont, Sanders hosted his own show on public access television called Bernie Speaks – and yes, it was the Berniest Bernie Sanders thing ever.
He has also tried his hand at acting. He once played a rabbi in a low-budget rom-com in 1999.
But The Bernie Sanders Show already looks like it will be much more serious – not to mention it will almost certainly be better than Hillary Clinton’s podcast, With Her, which died a spectacular death two days before the election.
