The acronym GOTV is commonly used in voter registration and outreach to stand for “Get Out The Vote”. GOTV is considered a campaign in of itself and can involve telephoning, literature and television outreach, and canvassing known supporters.
Rock the Vote is one of the largest non-profits that focus on building the political power of young people. The organization was founded in 1990 and released their first ad on MTV, featuring Madonna, to encourage people to vote.
